 About our Director
Francis Y. Falck Jr., M.S., PhD., M.D. is
a native of southeastern Connecticut. He is an internationally recognized
glaucoma expert and cataract surgeon.
Dr. Falck received his medical degree from the University of
Connecticut where he currently serves as Assistant Clinical
Professor of Ophthalmology. His ophthalmology training was
completed at the University of Rochester. Fellowship specialty
training in glaucoma and cataract surgery was obtained at the
University of Michigan W. K. Kellogg Eye Center. In addition Dr.
Falck holds masters and doctorate degrees from the University of
Michigan School of Public Health. He is board certified in
ophthalmology.
Dr. Falck was co-developer of the most widely used surgical
procedure for glaucoma treatment. He is actively involved in eye
instrumentation research and holds several patents. He has written over a
dozen publications regarding the treatment of eye disease and
is a frequent lecturer. He has served as a consultant to the
National Academy of Sciences. He is the recipient of multiple
honors and awards and has been recognized by the American
Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery for his contributions
to cataract surgical procedures.
He is a member of the American Glaucoma Society, American
Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and
Refractive Surgery, Association for Research in Vision and
Ophthalmology, New England Ophthalmological Society, Connecticut
State Medical Society, and the American Medical Association.

 Eye
physician and surgeon, Dr. Francis Falck, Director of Falck Eye
Centers, LLC received the “2010 Man of the Year in Medicine and
Healthcare Award” at the World Forum 2010, Cambridge University,
Cambridge, England on August 18th, 2010.
Dr. Falck was recognized for his milestone work developing
diagnostic technology that will be used worldwide to prevent
blindness and stroke.
The World Forum 2010 was attended by 150 scholars from 40
different countries.
